Book: You Are Not Your Own

This book was honestly mind-blowing. What would it look like to truly live as if we belong to Christ?

Overall: 10/10. Talk about a FIRE book. “You Are Not Your Own” takes a deep dive into the lies that we believe about belonging to ourselves, the crippling weight that comes with self-belonging, and the beauty of belonging to Christ instead.

Simplicity: 6/10. I wouldn’t call this book simple, but it was laid out in such a way that there was a reason for every “complicated” analogy or chapter. I prefer books that are meatier, so this was fantastic to me!

Speed: 6/10. This book did seem to go by slow at times, but it was SO rich, that I didn’t mind!

The great difficulty is that if we are our own, then our moral horizons cannot be given, only chosen. And that means that the only assurance we can ever have that we are living morally must come from within ourselves.
